Summary: The role of Senior Business Analyst focuses on supporting a transformation programme within Securities Services, enhancing transaction management and OTC derivative processing. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead analysis and onboarding of OTC derivative products not currently supported in Calypso.
- Define product workflows, life cycle events, data requirements, and control points.
- Partner with clients, technology, and operations for operational readiness.
- Analyse current-state manual trade capture and life cycle processes.
- Define future-state automated workflows to eliminate manual processing.
- Drive automation of trade capture, confirmations, amendments, and life cycle events.
- Analyse pricing processes and implement automated pricing solutions.
- Support transaction monitoring and management capabilities across the OTC life cycle.
- Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and operational risks.
- Act as a Senior point of contact for Tier 1 clients, gathering requirements and translating business needs.
- Facilitate workshops and solution validation sessions with clients and stakeholders.
- Produce high-quality business analysis artefacts including business requirements and functional specifications.
- Support UAT, implementation, and post-go-live activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across tools, processes, and delivery approach.
Key Skills:
- Proven Senior Business Analyst experience (approximately GCB 4 level or equivalent).
- Strong background in transaction monitoring and transaction management within financial services.
- Deep understanding of OTC derivatives and post-trade processing.
- Experience in process-led BA roles.
- Markit experience is highly desirable.
- Calypso experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Demonstrable experience working in client-facing roles with Tier 1 clients.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to facilitate workshops and articulate complex concepts.
- Exposure to front-to-back transformation or book-of-record programmes.
- Understanding of operational risk and regulatory considerations within OTC markets.

Role Overview
We are seeking Snr Business Analysts to support a high-profile transformation programme within Securities Services, focused on strengthening transaction management, improving OTC derivative processing, and delivering automation across front-to-back trade life cycles.
These roles will operate in a highly client-facing environment, working closely with Tier 1 institutional clients, product, technology, and operations teams. The successful candidates will be process-led business analysts with strong domain expertise in OTC derivatives, transaction monitoring, and post-trade life cycle management.
The role will also support a strategic Front-to-Back Transformation Programme, aimed at expanding and automating Calypso as the single book of record for all OTC derivatives, reducing operational risk, driving scalability, and improving client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Product Enablement
Lead analysis and onboarding of OTC derivative products not currently supported in Calypso, including:
CDS (Options)
Performance Swaps - Market Index
CDS Index Tranches
Define product workflows, life cycle events, data requirements, and control points.
Partner with clients, technology, and operations to ensure correct product representation and operational readiness.
Automation of Trade Capture & Lifecycle Events
Analyse current-state manual trade capture and life cycle processes across OTC derivatives.
Define future-state automated workflows to eliminate manual processing.
Drive automation of trade capture, confirmations, amendments, resets, and life cycle events within Calypso and upstream/downstream platforms.
Pricing Automation
Analyse pricing processes for clients currently dependent on manual pricing workflows.
Define and implement automated pricing solutions within Calypso.
Ensure transparent, auditable pricing aligned with client contracts, market data sources, and valuation policies.
Transaction Monitoring & Control
Support strong transaction monitoring and transaction management capabilities across the OTC life cycle.
Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and operational risks.
Define clear KPIs, exception handling, and escalation processes.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a Snr point of contact for Tier 1 clients, gathering requirements and translating business needs into clear functional specifications.
Facilitate workshops, walkthroughs, and solution validation sessions with clients and internal stakeholders.
Work closely with technology, operations, risk, and product teams to ensure successful delivery.
Change & Delivery
Produce high-quality business analysis artefacts including:
Business requirements and functional specifications
Process maps and target operating models
Data lineage and life cycle diagrams
Support UAT, implementation, and post-go-live activities.
Contribute to continuous improvement across tools, processes, and delivery approach.
Required xp & Skills
Core XP
Proven Snr Business Analyst XP (approximately GCB 4 level or equivalent).
Strong Bakground in transaction monitoring and transaction management within financial services.
Deep understanding of OTC derivatives, including trade life cycle events and post-trade processing.
XP operating in process-led BA roles, not purely platform or technical analysis.
Platform XP
Markit XP is highly desirable for the majority of roles.
Calypso XP is advantageous but not essential.
Given the scarcity of Calypso talent, strong OTC domain knowledge and transaction management XP will be prioritised over pure platform specialisation.
Client & Communication Skills
Demonstrable XP working in client-facing roles, ideally with Tier 1 institutional clients.
Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
Ability to confidently facilitate workshops and articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable XP
Exposure to front-to-back transformation or book-of-record programmes.
XP in Securities Services, Custody, or Investment Operations environments.
Understanding of operational risk, controls, and regulatory considerations within OTC markets.
