Senior Business Analyst - Financial Services
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the delivery of mortgage product propositions and business change initiatives within a regulated Financial Services environment. You'll work across the full project life cycle, translating business objectives into technology-ready requirements while collaborating with Product Owners, business stakeholders, architects, developers, testers, and risk and compliance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyse and manage business, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Produce user stories, epics, acceptance criteria, process maps, business rules and supporting documentation.
- Maintain requirements traceability throughout delivery.
- Support Product Owners with backlog refinement and prioritisation.
- Build strong relationships across business, technology, operational, risk and compliance teams.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews and design sessions.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, priorities and decision-making.
- Analyse current and future state business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support solution design, development, SIT, UAT, implementation and business readiness activities.
- Communicate progress, risks and dependencies throughout delivery.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong Business Analysis experience within Financial Services or another regulated environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven workshop facilitation and requirements elicitation experience.
- Strong experience producing user stories, epics, acceptance criteria and business documentation.
- Business process analysis and process improvement experience.
- Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable
- Mortgage lending, retail banking, savings or lending operations experience.
- Product development or proposition launch experience.
- Regulatory, risk, compliance or reporting change experience.
- Data analysis, data mapping or customer journey analysis.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Visio and Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of underwriting, servicing, customer or broker journeys, or regulatory reporting.
