Summary: The Senior Business Analyst role at the Health Research Authority (HRA) focuses on delivering digital systems through comprehensive business analysis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the full business analysis lifecycle, particularly in Scrum or SAFe methodologies, and will be responsible for requirement gathering, process mapping, and documentation. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions align with business needs. The role is part of a team dedicated to developing and supporting complex health research information systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply structured approaches to identify, investigate, analyze, and communicate complex business problems and opportunities.
- Analyze business goals, objectives, functions, and processes to support requirement definition.
- Identify, analyze, challenge, and validate business and user requirements.
- Use appropriate requirements management life cycle methods to complete project tasks and outputs.
- Ensure proposed solutions meet business and user needs.
- Understand the impact of potential changes on business processes, systems, data, roles, and responsibilities.
- Develop models and system requirements for bespoke IT systems or software packages.
- Identify business scenarios and develop acceptance criteria for functionality development.
Key Skills:
- Recognized business analyst certification (BCS Professional or IIBA CCBA/CBAP).
- Experience in multi-stakeholder environments (commercial, public sector, or NHS).
- Excellent presentation, oral, written, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and various business analyst methodologies and tools.
- Ability to analyze complex logical problems and translate them into effective system requirements.
- Experience in mentoring and supporting junior colleagues and apprentices.
- Agile certification.
- Understanding of a clinical research setting (desirable).
