Summary: The Senior Business Analyst role focuses on bridging business needs with technology solutions within the Trade and Working Capital Technology team. The position requires expertise in trade finance and agile delivery, emphasizing the digitization and optimization of financial platforms. The ideal candidate will engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, support product development, and enhance operational efficiency through data analysis. This contract role is set to run until June 30, 2026, and is based in London with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Translate complex business processes into clear and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies for new initiatives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in trade finance instruments, supply chain finance, and working capital optimization.
  • Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, and engineering teams to shape product features and roadmap.
  • Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning activities.
  • Validate solutions through UAT and support production rollout.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Facilitate workshops, demos, and training sessions to ensure alignment and adoption.
  • Work with data teams to define reporting requirements and KPIs for trade and working capital products.
  • Support analytics initiatives to improve client experience and operational efficiency.

Key Skills:

  • Strong understanding of trade finance products, working capital solutions, and related operational workflows.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and Excel.

Role purpose / summary

We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Business Analyst to join our Trade and Working Capital Technology team. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, focusing on digitizing and optimizing trade finance, supply chain finance, and working capital platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep domain expertise in trade finance and strong experience in agile delivery within a financial technology environment.

Key Skills/ requirements

  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Engage with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements. Translate complex business processes into clear and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria. Conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies for new initiatives.
  • Domain Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise in trade finance instruments (LCs, guarantees, collections), supply chain finance, and working capital optimization. Stay abreast of regulatory changes (e.g., SWIFT standards, ICC rules) and their impact on technology solutions.
  • Product Development Support: Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, and engineering teams to shape product features and roadmap. Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning activities. Validate solutions through UAT and support production rollout.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal teams (Operations, Risk, Compliance, Sales) and external vendors. Facilitate workshops, demos, and training sessions to ensure alignment and adoption.
  • Data & Reporting: Work with data teams to define reporting requirements and KPIs for trade and working capital products. Support analytics initiatives to improve client experience and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of trade finance products, working capital solutions, and related operational workflows.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
