Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deal with all disrepair claims, ensuring effective surveying service for Housing Services.
- Work closely with Disrepair Case Officers and the Legal Team to undertake inspections and write precise specifications for new disrepair claims.
- Devise and recommend cost-effective solutions to repair problems to save the Council money.
- Investigate disrepair claims thoroughly to enable rebutting of claims and save costs.
- Understand principles of works involved in legal disrepair claims and achieve prompt and effective works.
- Undertake quality checks and Post Inspections of completed works orders.
- Liaise with the Repairs Team to ensure value for money regarding disrepair works.

Senior Disrepair Surveyor Start: ASAP Duration: 3 – 6 Months Initially Rate: Inside IR35 Hybrid Working Arrangement Responsibilities: Manage and deal with all disrepair claims, including ensuring an effective surveying service is provided for Housing Services in a number of key areas Work closely with Disrepair Case Officers and the Legal Team to undertake inspections and write precise specifications relating to new disrepair claims under Section 11 and Environmental Protection Act claims (EPAs), Awaab’s Law, HHSRS and other relevant regulations Devise and recommend cost effective solutions to repair problems, which will save the Council money in the long term as well as achieving value for money Investigate disrepair claims thoroughly to enable rebutting of disrepair claims, where otherwise will lead to settlement, in turn saving the Council significant costs Understand the principles of works involved in legal disrepair claims and achieve prompt and effective works to satisfy claims in a bid to reduce costs and protect the position of the Council Undertake quality checks and Post Inspections of completed works orders when selected Liaise with the Repairs Team as appropriate to ensure value for money regarding completing disrepair works promptly to protect the Council's interest and assets Requirements: Demonstrable experience at a senior level in commercial/public sector surveying Strong experience in dealing with disrepair claims Able to survey, inspect and measure dwellings Able to manage and monitor programmes of work and produce technical specifications, drawings and contract documentation If this is a role that you are interested in, please do reply with an updated CV and one of the team will be in contact.
