Senior Bridge Inspector

Summary: This role as a Senior Bridge Inspector involves working directly within the client's office to support officers and collaborate on delivery objectives. The position focuses on assessing and maintaining the county's diverse bridge stock, with an emphasis on high-quality service delivery. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team and contribute to the structures programme, which has received increased funding for the upcoming financial year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessing the condition of the client's structural assets
• Identifying and prioritising maintenance and repair works
• Delivering over 500 General and around 100 Principal Inspections annually
• Undertaking Special Inspections and surveying accident damages as required
• Working within a professional team to deliver quality services and meet set objectives

Key Skills:

• A mature and self-aware approach to achieving high standards and safe working practices
• A passion and aptitude for bridge inspection, with a sound understanding of bridge design principles
• Familiarity with bridge inspection processes and Bridge Condition Indicators
• A HNC, HND in civil/structural engineering, or equivalent demonstrable experience
• Confident communication skills, able to convey viewpoints clearly and keep stakeholders and colleagues informed
