Summary: The Senior Backend Engineer role is a contract position focused on building and scaling backend systems and APIs for an AI-driven social media start-up expanding into the US market. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in backend engineering, particularly with technologies such as NestJS, TypeScript, Docker, and AWS. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing for both office visits and remote work. The contract is for six months with a competitive daily rate, classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and scale backend systems and APIs that enhance product experience.
• Collaborate closely with the iOS team to deliver customer-focused features.
• Manage infrastructure using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and implement systems architecture and design.
• Communicate effectively about backend processes and systems.

Key Skills:

• 5+ years of commercial experience as a Backend Engineer.
• Proficient in TypeScript, NodeJS (Express), Docker, and AWS.
• Experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of systems design and architecture.
• B2C exposure is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
