Summary: The Senior Azure Platform Engineer role involves managing and overseeing cloud infrastructure within a large organization, focusing on MS Azure. The position requires significant hands-on experience and expertise in cloud architecture, automation, and security best practices. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid model, spending three days a week in London and the remainder remotely. This is a six-month initial contract with an immediate start date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Oversee provisioning, configuration and management of all cloud infrastructure resources (Compute, Network & Storage) in Azure, AWS etc ensuring efficiently, securely, and remaining cost-effective.
- Lead the implementation of cloud-based solutions & support migration of Legacy applications into Cloud, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring high levels of collaboration and productivity.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure cloud infrastructure adheres to industry best practices for security, data protection, and compliance (eg, NIST ISO, GDPR, etc).
- Provide periodic reports on cloud costs, usage patterns, and opportunities for optimisation.
- Ensure that cloud infrastructure aligns with business goals, objectives, and future growth.
- Act as an escalation point for Cloud infrastructure incidents/issues to oversee troubleshooting, incident management, and problem resolution related to cloud infrastructure.

- SME for MS Azure Platform.
- Proven experience in managing cloud infrastructure, with significant hands-on experience in MS Azure (must have).
- Strong understanding of MS Azure cloud architecture, services, automation, and security best practices to contribute to the long-term cloud strategy, including architecture design, future scalability, and innovation.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Experience with DevOps tools and practices (CI/CD, automation, containerization, etc.).
- Knowledge/experience of AWS as a secondary cloud technology is desirable.
- Experience with hybrid cloud solutions and multi-cloud environments.
- Solid understanding of networking, virtualization, storage, and compute in cloud environments.
