Summary: The Senior AWS Migration Engineer will be responsible for leading cloud migration projects, focusing on AWS services and serverless technologies. This role requires hands-on delivery and problem-solving skills to optimize the migration process. The engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to design migration strategies and ensure the security and performance of AWS-hosted applications. The position is contract-based and allows for remote work alongside on-site responsibilities in London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end migration of applications, databases, and services to AWS.
  • Architect and design serverless and traditional cloud-native solutions utilizing AWS services.
  • Implement and optimize AWS infrastructure services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze current application architecture and create migration strategies.
  • Automate infrastructure deployment and management through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, performance, and security of AWS-hosted applications.
  • Troubleshoot migration issues and optimize the transition process.
  • Provide documentation, technical guidance, and mentorship to internal teams.
  • Contribute to cloud best practices, governance, and optimization frameworks.

Key Skills:

  • Proven track record (5+ years) delivering complex AWS cloud migration projects.
  • Deep hands-on experience with AWS Lambda and serverless architecture patterns.
  • Strong expertise across the full AWS services ecosystem.
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK).
  • Experience with AWS migration tools.
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices, networking, and cost optimization on AWS.
  • Ability to write high-quality Python, Node.js, or Java code for AWS Lambda functions.
  • Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
