Summary: The Senior Authorised Person (SAP) - Electrical role involves overseeing electrical safety at a nuclear decommissioning site in North Wales. This site-based position requires the individual to act as the duty holder for high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) systems, ensuring safe operations and compliance with safety regulations. The contract is for 12 months and is classified as outside IR35. Previous experience in nuclear or decommissioning environments is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as SAP for HV/LV systems, including isolation, earthing, and re-energisation
- Plan and manage switching and isolation activities
- Review and approve electrical aspects of permits, RAMS, and switching schedules
- Support permit issue, coordination, and close-out
- Monitor contractor compliance with site safety rules
- Investigate incidents and support continuous improvement
Key Skills:
- Current or previous SAP authorisation (HV/LV)
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety rules and isolation procedures
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and SLDs
- Strong safety leadership and risk awareness
- Experience in nuclear, decommissioning, or regulated environments (desirable)
- Permit-to-work and control of work experience (desirable)
- Knowledge of temporary electrical systems (desirable)
- Formal electrical qualifications
- Relevant professional membership
- IOSH/NEBOSH (desirable)
- CSCS Gold Card (desirable)

Role Overview
