Summary: The role of Senior Authorised Person involves overseeing high-voltage operations and managing safety compliance for substation and new connection projects across the North of England. The position requires an experienced individual with 11kV authorisation and a strong background in HV switching operations. The contract is long-term, outside IR35, with an immediate start available. Candidates must be based in or willing to work in the North of England and possess a full UK driving license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely manage all high-voltage operations and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Prepare, issue, and manage safety documentation and permits in line with DNO and client standards.
- Carry out HV switching operations on the 11kV network.
- Prepare and implement switching schedules and ensure safe energisation/de-energisation processes.
- Lead and oversee new grid connections ensuring Safety from the System at all times.
- Conduct equipment upgrades including replacement of switchgear and transformers.
- Develop and review RAMs for high risk work activities.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the control room and site teams.
Key Skills:
- Authorised at 11kV under one of the UK DNOs.
- Demonstrable HV switching experience.
- Previous experience working on substations or new connection projects.
- Full UK driving license.
- Willingness to work across the North of England.

11kV Senior Authorised Persons – Substations & New Connections – Long Term Contracts – Outside IR35 – North of England – ASAP Start
We are searching for an experienced 11kV Senior Authorised Person to support ongoing substation and new connection projects across the North of England. SAPs with limitations to their codes will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Safely manage all high-voltage operations and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Prepare, issue, and manage safety documentation and permits in line with DNO and client standards.
