Summary: The Senior Audit Data Analyst role is a freelance position based in London, focusing on enhancing internal audit processes through advanced data analytics. The analyst will collaborate with audit teams to implement data-driven audits, mentor junior staff, and improve analytics tools and standards. This position requires a strong background in data analytics, particularly within audit or assurance contexts, and involves presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders. The contract is for 6 months with a potential extension, starting in May 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with audit teams to scope and plan analytics
- Source, transform, and analyse audit-relevant data
- Translate audit objectives into actionable analytics use cases
- Present results clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Coach and mentor junior analysts and auditors
- Enhance audit analytics tools, processes, and standards
- Support delivery across audits in areas such as finance, operations, and asset management
- Participate in agile planning and team collaboration sessions
- Promote adoption of data-driven auditing practices
Key Skills:
- 7+ years' experience in data analytics, ideally within audit or assurance
- Fluent in English
- Proficient in SQL (required); Python experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end analytics delivery
- Familiarity with agile methodologies (e.g. scrum)
- Experience working with internal audit, risk, or compliance functions (preferred)
- Knowledge of machine learning applications (preferred)
- Quick adaptability to various systems and datasets
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
