Summary: The Senior Architect - Operational Resilience role involves designing comprehensive technical solutions that comply with operational resilience regulations for a Global IT Services Provider. The position requires a strong background in architecture, particularly within large enterprise banking environments, and focuses on creating high-level and low-level designs. The role is contract-based for an initial period of six months, with a requirement to work on-site in Sheffield for 2-3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create resilience-focused HLDs/LLDs aligned with enterprise architecture and cloud strategy
- Translate Operational Resilience and DORA requirements into actionable designs
- Act as a design authority for resilience initiatives, reviewing and approving technical designs
- Provide architectural input into programmes including technology modernisation, cloud migration and system decommissioning
Key Skills:
- 6+ years' architecture experience, with proven experience working in a large enterprise bank (essential)
- Strong experience with hybrid cloud (AWS/Azure + on-prem), data centres, ServiceNow CMDB, and container platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of operational resilience frameworks, RTO/RPO, backup/DR, and dependency mapping
- Knowledge of the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) is highly desirable
- TOGAF Certified
