Summary: The role of Application Engineer – SME involves working collaboratively within an Agile environment, focusing on delivering high-quality solutions using modern technologies such as React, TypeScript, and AWS services. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and be comfortable with BPSS clearance, as well as have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. The position is based in London, UK, and is offered on a contract basis. Visa sponsorship is not available, and candidates must hold ILR or British Citizenship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with designers, product teams, testers, engineers, and external partners.
- Participate in Agile delivery processes including stand-ups, planning, reviews, retrospectives, and show-and-tell sessions.
- Contribute to code reviews, pair-programming, and community-of-practice activities.
- Deliver quality solutions while managing technical debt and making sensible trade-offs.
- Stay informed about modern technologies and promote the adoption of valuable tools.
Key Skills:
- Intermediate to advanced experience with React and TypeScript.
- Proficiency in Python and AWS services (Athena/Glue, DynamoDB, ECS, S3, Lambda, SQS, Step Function).
- Experience with automated testing frameworks for Python and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
- Tooling experience with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
- Desirable skills include Cypress, GitHub Actions, and Splunk.
