Summary: The role of Senior API/Python Developer involves working in a dynamic environment to deliver high-quality software solutions. The developer will collaborate with project teams and ensure compliance with organizational policies. This role is based in London and requires two days of on-site work each week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain software applications using Python, Angular 6, and other technologies.
- Work within Agile frameworks to deliver high-quality software changes.
- Collaborate with project teams including Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Testers.
- Produce technical support documentation and write technical specifications/User Stories.
- Ensure compliance with control policies and procedures during the development lifecycle.
- Manage source code repositories and version control systems.
- Deliver software changes within agreed Sprints with minimal coding errors.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Software Developer or Software Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of Python, Angular 6, Java/JavaScript/JSON.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools like Bamboo.
- Familiarity with microservices, APIs, and cloud platforms (AWS & Azure).
- Understanding of event-driven architecture and various AWS deployment methods.
- Experience in SQL database development and cloud deployment (e.g., RDS in AWS).
- Knowledge of containerized deployments and optimization techniques (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Role Description:
Skills and Experience
Proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role, working within Agile frameworks and associated architectures, design, coding languages and testing & deployment tools, including the following
o Python
o Angular 6
o Java/JavaScript/JSON
o Ci/Cd pipeline build & deployment tools eg Bamboo
o Micro services & APIs
o Cloud experience (AWS & Azure)
o API integration experience, REST preferred
o Understanding of event driven architecture.
o Different AWS deployment methods eg native EC2, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (JVM) & Docker
Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
Experience of SQL database development, SSIS and cloud deployment eg RDS in AWS
Knowledge of containerised deployments and optimisation techniques & tools eg Docker, Fargate, Kubernetes
Experience of working with wider project teams including Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Business Analysts and Testers
Experience of producing technical support documentation
Experience of writing technical specifications/User Stories
Experience of working within the full development life cycle ie development, unit testing and release management
Experience of source code repositories, code branching and version control systems eg GIT and TFS
Resourcefulness, attention to detail and troubleshooting aptitude
BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

Delivery of high quality, fully tested software changes within agreed Sprints
Recognised as a technical authority within the development team
A high level of accuracy for estimating stories and tasks
Minimal coding errors found during SIT & UAT
Smooth transition of changes from development to production
