We are seeking an experienced Android Engineer to join a collaborative team building and enhancing a large-scale, consumer-facing Android application. In this role, you will work closely with product, design, and engineering partners to deliver high-quality, innovative mobile solutions. This position requires working onsite in New York City three days per week.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, collaborative, and passionate about building polished, world-class Android applications.
Responsibilities

Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to design, estimate, and deliver new features for a consumer-facing Android application

Build well-structured, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks, including Jetpack Compose and Coroutines

Translate product requirements into clear, actionable engineering tasks

Proactively identify, debug, and resolve issues while improving application performance and reliability

Use tools such as Gradle and GitHub Actions to support efficient build and deployment workflows

Contribute to engineering culture by proposing improvements to tooling, processes, and infrastructure

Review pull requests, mentor teammates, and promote strong engineering best practices

Stay current with Android platform trends and advancements

Participate in technical discussions and brainstorming to drive effective solutions
Requirements

7+ years of software development experience, including at least 4 years focused on Android development

Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and MVVM architecture

Experience integrating REST APIs and working with dependency management and build tools such as Gradle and GitHub Actions

Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools including JUnit, Room, Jetpack Navigation, and Firebase

Proven ability to deliver high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code

Strong collaboration skills and experience working with designers and product managers using tools such as Figma, Jira, and Confluence

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Willingness and ability to work onsite in New York City three days per week
