Summary: The Senior Android Engineer role involves working within a cross-functional Agile development team to develop customer-facing projects, primarily focusing on Android development using Kotlin and Java. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and offers opportunities for professional development and continuous learning. The role is hybrid, with a mix of remote work and office presence in London and Bracknell. The successful candidate will also provide technical assurance on complex IT projects and mentor less experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Android applications using Kotlin and Java within an Agile team.
  • Collaborate with Android and iOS engineers, Business Analysts, Quality Engineers, Designers, and User Experience specialists.
  • Provide technical assurance on complex IT projects and shape new project approaches.
  • Support the professional development of less experienced software engineers.
  • Maintain excellent communication with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve engineering skills and stay updated with the latest technologies.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience in Native Mobile Development in Android (Kotlin and Java).
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.
  • Demonstrable experience in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and pair programming.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methods such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience in REST API development and/or consumption.
  • Deep understanding of MVVM and MVP architectural patterns.
  • Desirable: Experience with Postman, Charles/Proxyman, Bitrise/Gitlab CI, Swift/iOS, GraphQL, Microservice Architectures, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Understanding of UX principles and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript libraries).
