One of the UK's major banks is rebuilding their consumer payments app from scratch. Not a refresh. A complete replacement, designed to support a broad range of payment methods across in-person and digital channels, delivered natively on Android.
You'll own key components of the new payment experience, working in Kotlin with MVVM/MVI, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and Flow. The role involves NFC and contactless integration, Google Pay, in-app payment flows and payment SDK work. You'll also be helping translate high-level requirements into structured backlogs, so architectural thinking matters as much as clean code.
Experience in mobile payments is a genuine advantage here. Strong Android fundamentals and the ability to own decisions, not just implement them, is non-negotiable.
