Summary: The role is for a Senior Android Contractor specializing in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose to develop a new B2C mobile application from scratch for a fast-paced AI client. The contractor will work closely with a technical lead and an iOS engineer to ensure feature parity with an upcoming iOS app. The position emphasizes speed, quality, and autonomy in delivering a complete Android application. This is a 2-month contract with a possibility of extension, based in London, and classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building a complete Android application from scratch with clean architecture and high performance.
- Writing the first line of production code in Kotlin and taking full ownership of the app.
- Working with a hands-on technical lead focused on delivery milestones.
- Collaborating with an iOS engineer and backend team to ensure cross-platform consistency.
- Optionally contributing to backend APIs or glue code in NodeJS, Python, or Rust.
Key Skills:
- Deep experience building Android apps from scratch, ideally for B2C consumer startups or products.
- Strong knowledge of Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android patterns (MVVM, DI with Hilt or Koin).

This is a rare opportunity to own an entire Android build end-to-end, working closely with the technical lead as you aim to hit feature parity with an iOS app launching soon . Speed and quality are the name of the game. If you’ve delivered greenfield Android apps at pace and love operating with autonomy, this could be a great fit.
