Senior Accountant

Summary: This role is for a Finalist/Newly Qualified Senior Accountant based in Leeds, working for a well-known business. The position involves reporting to a Financial Controller and encompasses various accounting responsibilities, including management accounts production and compliance work. The candidate will also engage with different business functions and internal stakeholders to ensure effective financial reporting and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production of monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts
• Business partner various different functions across the wider business
• Review and approval of balance sheet reconciliations
• Review and submission of local compliance work, including but not limited to statutory accounts and VAT and tax periodic returns
• Responding to a significant number of ad hoc queries, and analysis as required, prioritising work effectively to ensure that these queries are responded to on a timely basis
• Liaise with key internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with the Group Policies, including operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting
• Apply understanding of assigned business processes to identify gaps and propose continuous improvement measures

Key Skills:

• Qualified accountant (Finalist/Newly Qualified)
• Strong understanding of management accounts and financial reporting
• Experience with compliance work including statutory accounts and VAT
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

Salary (Rate): £52,000 per annum
