Summary: The Senior Accountant role at a large oil service company in Aberdeen is a full-time contract position for 12 months, covering maternity leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting for UK entities and providing financial information to management teams. This role also involves acting as the key interface with external auditors and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with statutory accounts and audit process for UK legal entities.
- Resolve internal queries that may arise.
- Assist with monthly management reporting and forecasts in group consolidation systems.
- Provide expert technical advice regarding IFRS and group accounting standards.
- Monitor compliance with new accounting standards and provide guidance to the business.
- Prepare and approve balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with preparation of impairment indicators and analysis.
- Perform any other tasks as determined by management.
Key Skills:
- Qualified Accountant (CA/ACCA) or qualified by experience.
- Strong technical skills and proven track record.
- Knowledge of IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills.
