Summary: The SEND Tutor role at TutorRemedy involves providing flexible, face-to-face educational support to children with special educational needs (SEN) in Thurrock and surrounding areas. Tutors will plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs, focusing on both academic subjects and life skills. Essential responsibilities include tracking student progress and managing challenging behaviors while fostering confidence in learners. A valid enhanced child workforce DBS and experience with SEND students are required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide face-to-face support to children with ASD, ADHD, PDA, SEMH, or PMLD.
  • Plan lessons and resources tailored to the student's needs.
  • Deliver engaging sessions in core subjects or life skills.
  • Apply skills to raise pupils' confidence and manage challenging behavior.
  • Track learning progress and provide monthly reports.
  • Engage in outdoor activities related to learning about plants and nature.
  • Utilize visuals for communication when necessary.

Key Skills:

  • Experience working with SEND students.

SEND Tutor

TutorRemedy Tutors are looking for SEND experienced tutors, teachers who are looking for flexible and rewarding work with a rewarding schedule in Thurrock and surrounding areas.

This SEND tutor role involves:

  • working with children with SEN and providing face to face support to children with ASD, ADHD, PDA, SEMH or PMLD at their homes or a local centre e.g., town hall, library or a centre;
  • planning lessons and resources around the student's needs. This could be in the core subjects or life skills;
  • plan and deliver engaging sessions;
  • apply skills to raise pupils' confidence;
  • manage children with challenging behaviour;
  • track the learning progress of the student to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide monthly reports;
  • potentially engage in outdoor activities such as learning about plants and nature with the student, learn about visuals to communicate in some cases.

The work is fitted around your availability.

Experience working with SEND students and a valid enhanced child workforce DBS are both essential.
