Summary: The SEND Sufficiency Programme Manager will oversee the SEND Sufficiency Strategy and Implementation on a 3-6 month interim contract, reporting to the Head of Commissioning. This role requires expertise in commissioning arrangements for SEND providers and capital works, ensuring high-quality education provision for children with SEND. The position involves strategic planning, quality monitoring, and collaboration with various stakeholders within the local authority. The role is hybrid, allowing for a flexible working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the SEND Sufficiency Strategy and Implementation.
- Provide programme management to ensure quality in SEND education provision.
- Develop and implement quality audit frameworks and monitor practices.
- Strategically plan for special school placements and support for children with SEND.
- Prepare detailed written responses, case statements, and legal submissions.
- Collaborate with providers and relevant commissioners.
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of legislation relating to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (0-25).
- Programme management experience.
- Experience in developing and implementing quality audit frameworks.
- Ability to work with the provider market for alternative education provision.
- Strong written communication skills for legal and case documentation.
