Summary: The SEND Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Co-ordinator role at BCP Council involves managing a caseload of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and coordinating the EHCP process in accordance with relevant legislation. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children and young people undergoing statutory EHC needs assessments
- Coordinate the EHCP process in line with the Children & Families Act 2014 and SEN Code of Practice
- Liaise closely with schools, health, social care and families to ensure holistic and high-quality plans
- Represent the Local Authority at annual reviews, multi-agency meetings and transition planning forums
- Provide informed advice and guidance to parents, carers and professionals on SEND legislation and processes
- Support with funding and commissioning decisions to ensure cost-effective provision
Key Skills:
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in SEND, Education or Social Care
- In-depth knowledge of SEND Code of Practice, EHC legislation and related statutory frameworks
- Experience of managing statutory EHCP processes and casework
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work with families and multi-agency teams
