Summary: The role of SEN Teacher in Camden involves working within a specialist school to support pupils aged 3-16 with Autism. The position requires a committed and self-motivated individual to join a dedicated team focused on enhancing educational experiences for students with complex needs. The teacher will implement individualized learning strategies and foster a nurturing environment to help students thrive. This is a full-time, long-term position starting ASAP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized and group learning sessions for pupils with Autism.
  • Utilize a range of teaching, learning, assessment, and positive behavior management strategies.
  • Support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning and encourage self-regulation in behaviors.
  • Foster a creative and engaging learning environment to reignite students' curiosity and enjoyment of learning.
  • Collaborate with a wider team of professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognized overseas teaching certificate.
  • Experience working with students with SEND in mainstream or SEND settings.
  • Excellent communication skills and a flexible, hard-working nature.
  • Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton) is beneficial.
  • Highly motivated and innovative with a commitment to making a positive impact.
