Summary: The role of SEN/SEND Tutor involves providing tailored educational support in core subjects (Maths, English, or Science) to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Tutors will work flexibly, either in-person or remotely, to create a positive learning environment and help transform the lives of vulnerable learners. The position requires a genuine passion for education and a commitment to supporting at-risk students. Multiple positions are available, with ongoing hiring and interviews being arranged as applications are received.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person, online/remote, and hybrid tuition in Maths, English, or Science to students with SEMH and SEND needs.
- Support pupils from KS1 to KS5 by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring.
- Plan lessons and report on student progress, providing regular feedback.
- Collaborate with local authorities and schools to support referred students.
Key Skills:
- 2+ years of teaching experience, preferably with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD.
- Familiarity with teaching English, Maths, and/or Science.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS).
- Enhanced DBS check and 2+ professional references.
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices.
- Ability to create a safe learning environment.

SEND Tutor and Teacher role requirements:
- Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
- Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
- Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
- Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
- Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
- Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
The SEND Tutor and Teacher role and responsibilities:
- Provide in person, online / remote, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
- Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
- Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
