Summary: The role of SEN Mentor involves supporting a Special Educational Needs learner in their personal and social development through engaging activities in Roblox. The ideal candidate should be familiar with Roblox, possess coding skills, and be able to create worlds within the game. This position emphasizes a child-centered approach to education, aiming to re-engage learners who are out of school. The role is based at the learner's home in Surrey, with flexible working hours available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a Special Educational Needs learner in personal and social development through Roblox.
- Engage the learner with coding and world-building activities in Roblox.
- Facilitate sessions that are initially focused on gaming before introducing educational elements.
- Act as a positive role model and provide a supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with parents and other educators to enhance the learning experience.
Key Skills:
- Experience with Roblox, including coding and world creation.
- Positive and friendly attitude with the ability to inspire and motivate learners.
- DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt learning experiences to meet individual learner needs.
