Summary: The Cyber Security Test Engineer role is a contract position focused on enhancing Cyber Resilience within Identity and Access Management (IAM). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive cyber security test strategy while identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities in complex systems. Active UK security clearance is mandatory for this position. The role requires hands-on experience and the ability to lead testing initiatives related to multi-factor authentication and secure data retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a full cyber security test strategy
  • Identify vulnerabilities and ensure remediation validation
  • Create and apply risk models
  • Lead testing around MFA, DR/restore, and secure data retention
  • Strong understanding of Azure security risks (esp. Azure Storage)
  • Design and interpret security dashboards and reports
  • Ideally confident upskilling the wider test team in core cyber practices

Key Skills:

  • Manual testing across systems, APIs, and apps
  • JavaScript/Python
  • Confluence, Jenkins, Jira, Splunk
  • Knowledge of authentication (OAuth, SAML, JWT)
  • Healthcare sector experience
  • Active SC or DV clearance (not older than 10 years/7 years for DV)
  • Must have taken up post within 6 months of clearance being granted
  • Must have worked on a government or police contract in the last 12 months
  • No more than 6 months overseas during any gap in service

Cyber Security Test Engineer (Contract - Inside IR35)
£430/day (all in, PAYE) - open to slightly higher for the right person
Must hold active & valid UK security clearance (see below)

I'm looking for an experienced Cyber Security Test Engineer to join an existing test team supporting Cyber Resilience within IAM.

You'll be hands-on, proactive, and capable of identifying and addressing security gaps across complex systems and processes.

The role:

  • Develop and execute a full cyber security test strategy

  • Identify vulnerabilities and ensure remediation validation

  • Create and apply risk models

  • Lead testing around MFA, DR/restore, and secure data retention

  • Strong understanding of Azure security risks (esp. Azure Storage)

  • Design and interpret security dashboards and reports

  • Ideally confident upskilling the wider test team in core cyber practices
