Summary: The Security Operations Manager will lead the transformation of a well-known insurance organization’s security posture as it transitions to a fully cloud-based model. This role involves overseeing SOC operations, vulnerability management, and incident response, while collaborating closely with stakeholders. The position requires a strong focus on improving security processes and tools, leveraging Microsoft 365 E5 and other security technologies. The role is based in a flexible hybrid environment, primarily in Milton Keynes or London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight of SOC operations, including third party management, RFPs, and potential migrations
- Vulnerability management across cloud and SaaS environments
- Identifying, evaluating, and implementing new security tools and systems
- Driving process improvement and maturing operational security workflows
- Supporting the wider transformation programme, including penetration test coordination
- Leading incident response tabletop exercises
- Building strong internal relationships and taking the business on the security journey

We’re supporting a well-known insurance organisation currently undergoing a major companywide transformation. As they transition from an on-premise environment to a fully cloud based model, strengthening and maturing their security posture has become mission critical. As the Security Operations Manager, you’ll assess the organisation’s current security estate and lead efforts to mature the function, focusing on improving processes, documentation, tooling, partner management and internal engagement. The environment is heavily Microsoft driven, leveraging the full Microsoft 365 E5 security stack, alongside tools such as Elastic and Qualys. You’ll join a small but growing security function and report directly into the CISO.
Key Responsibilities
