Summary: The Akamai Security Engineer role involves deploying, configuring, and managing Akamai security solutions within a global consultancy focused on Cyber Security. Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and manage Akamai security solutions, including WAF, CDN, Bot Manager, API Security, and Account Protector.
- Monitor web traffic and security events using TrafficPeak, Grafana, and Akamai tools, tuning policies to improve protection and reduce false positives.
- Investigate and respond to web security incidents, working with Security Operations, Application, and Network teams.
- Onboard new applications and APIs, maintain technical documentation, and support security best practices.
- Assist with compliance, audits, and the continuous improvement of web application security.
Key Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Akamai security solutions, including Kona Site Defender, WAF, WAS, and CDN.
- Strong knowledge of web application security, including bot mitigation, DDoS protection, rate limiting, and API security.
- Experience analysing HTTP/S traffic, security events, and identifying malicious traffic patterns.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, and CDN technologies, with the ability to tune security controls for performance and protection.
- A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn, share knowledge, and work effectively across teams.

Lumora Solutions is partnering with a global consultancy at the forefront of Cyber Security. We are currently seeking an Akamai Security Engineer to join a high-performing team on a 6-month contract, working inside IR35.
