Summary: The Security Consultant - Logging Specialist role is focused on enhancing cybersecurity measures within a leading financial services firm. The position requires a blend of technical expertise in SIEM platforms and strong analytical skills to manage security logging and incident response. The consultant will work primarily in the Manchester area, with a hybrid working arrangement of three days in the office. This contract role is set to begin on 11/08/2025 and is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (e.g. Splunk, ArcSight, QRadar).
  • Manage log management processes and network security components.
  • Conduct incident response, forensic investigations, and audit remediation activities.
  • Review security reports to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all tasks.

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading financial services clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer/Logging Specialist to join their team for a contract until the end of the year.

Job Responsibilities / Objectives

A degree in a relevant field (or equivalent practical experience) is required, with professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, GSEC, or similar considered advantageous. Key technical competencies include hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (e.g. Splunk, ArcSight, QRadar), a strong grasp of network security components, log management processes, multi-tier application architecture, and scripting capabilities. Candidates should bring solid experience in cybersecurity, particularly in areas such as security logging, incident response, forensic investigations, and audit remediation activities.
