Summary: This role is for a Security Subject Matter Expert on a 6-month contract, based on-site in Corsham, supporting a key Defence partner. The position involves providing comprehensive security assurance across systems, applications, and infrastructure while collaborating closely with MOD stakeholders. The role requires DV clearance and additional clearances for UK nationals. The consultant will be responsible for various security-related tasks, including oversight of security architecture and penetration testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as the on-site security authority alongside MOD
- Providing full security assurance and formal sign-off
- Reviewing security architecture & technical designs
- Overseeing SIEM, monitoring, and forensic readiness
- Leading and assessing penetration testing & vulnerability work
- Approving secure code reviews and release changes
- Assessing software suppliers and product risks
- Producing clear, auditable security documentation
- Advising MOD teams with evidence-based security guidance
Key Skills:
- Experience in security assurance within high-assurance environments
- Strong understanding of security architecture and technical designs
- Knowledge of SIEM, monitoring, and forensic readiness
- Experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
- Ability to produce clear and auditable security documentation
- Strong communication skills for advising stakeholders
- DV clearance and additional clearances for UK nationals
