Summary: The role of Security Architect involves working with a large Utilities company on a 6-month contract, focusing on developing and implementing security architecture. The position requires strong practical experience with the Microsoft Security Suite and a hands-on approach to security solutions in complex environments. The role is primarily remote with occasional travel to Wokingham or Warwick. This position is classified as outside IR35, offering a competitive daily rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strong, practical experience with the Microsoft Security Suite (eg, Defender, Sentinel, Purview, Entra, Intune).
- Support with security tooling and implementation.
- Develop and implement physical and cyber security architecture.
- Contribute to establishing an in-house Security Operations Centre (SOC).
- Scope includes: SOC/SIEM, CCTV, perimeter security, reporting into CISO.
- Proven ability to deliver security solutions in complex, enterprise-scale environments (utilities, government, water, or similar).
- Hands-on mindset - not just theoretical or advisory.
- Comfortable working closely with delivery teams, rolling sleeves up to get things done.
- Culturally aligned: low ego, collaborative, curious, proactive, committed to going the extra mile.

What you'll be working towards
We are currently looking to engage with an experienced Security Architect for an immediate start with a large Utilities company. This will be an initial 6 month contract, with extensions, and remote working with possible occasional travel to the Wokingham or Warwick area 2-3 times a week.
About You
