Summary: The Security Architect role at Whitehall Resources involves working with a key client on a 6-month contract, focusing on developing secure architectures for an IoT platform. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure systems are secure by design, while also supporting engineering teams in their security assurance processes. This role is based in Manchester and requires on-site work 2-3 days per week, classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing consultation to product teams in security architecture and design, and conducting security reviews of new and existing products and services.
• Developing and owning architectural solutions that deliver the highest standard of security.
• Collaborating closely with the Solution Architecture team to ensure systems are secure by design.
• Working with engineering teams to create threat models.
• Maintaining strong knowledge of current security threats, mitigations, and operational security best practices.
• Developing and maintaining Security Patterns and Reference Architectures.
• Supporting the analysis of business requirements and their interpretation into security deliverables.

Key Skills:

• A background in software engineering or cyber security, with knowledge of DevSecOps.
• Familiarity with application security and threat modelling.
• Experience implementing SDLC processes, technology, and automation in a DevOps environment, ideally using OWASP best practices.
• Experience within agile delivery frameworks.
• Experience with large-scale web applications and backend services, including API design, access management, authorization, authentication, data protection, and encryption.
• Solid technical foundation with a business-savvy mindset.
