Summary: The Secure Edge Network NetCloud Administrator role is a contract position focused on configuring, securing, and managing secure edge networking capabilities in both field and lab environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CradlePoint R1900, NetCloud Manager, and various network security protocols. This position requires SC clearance and is based on-site in the UK. The role demands strong operational discipline and the ability to work in regulated environments.

  • Configure and maintain CradlePoint R1900 (WAN failover, LTE/5G profiles, routing, DHCP/DNS as required).
  • Administer NetCloud Manager (device groups, templates, firmware management, alerts, reporting).
  • Build and maintain Firewall policies (inbound/outbound rules, NAT, segmentation, least-privilege).
  • Design and implement VLAN segmentation for multi-tenant/multi-mission deployments.
  • Configure and validate switch management (port profiles, trunking, STP, PoE where applicable).
  • Implement secure remote access patterns (approved jump host/VPN methods, credential management, audit trails).
  • Establish monitoring and logging (SNMP/syslog/telemetry) and perform initial incident triage.
  • Produce and maintain network diagrams (logical/physical), IP plans, and configuration baselines.
  • Own configuration control: backups, golden configs, change records, rollback plans.
  • Support air-gapped/disconnected operations (local admin workflows, offline updates, removable media controls).
  • Validate network performance for edge compute workloads (latency, throughput, jitter) and document results.
  • Support acceptance activities: FAT/SAT checklists, evidence packs, handover training.

Key Skills:

  • CradlePoint R1900 (LTE/5G edge routing).
  • NetCloud Manager (fleet management).
  • Firewalling/security policy/NAT.
  • VLANs/segmentation.
  • Routing & switching.
  • Network monitoring & logging.
  • Secure remote access (approved methods).
  • Documentation/diagrams/configuration management.
  • Proven experience supporting secure networking in restricted/regulated environments.
