Section Engineer - Structures

The Role

As Section Engineer, you will take responsibility for the planning and delivery of structural elements across the project, ensuring works are completed in accordance with design specifications, programme requirements and quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and coordinating structures packages on site
  • Planning and overseeing construction activities
  • Leading Site Engineers and subcontractors within your section
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation
  • Producing and managing ITPs, permits and quality records
  • Raising and resolving technical queries and design issues
  • Monitoring progress against programme targets
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely and in compliance with project procedures
  • Supporting temporary works coordination and implementation
  • Managing client and stakeholder interfaces where required

Requirements

  • Experience working as a Section Engineer on major civil engineering or highways projects
  • Strong background delivering highway structures, including bridges, retaining walls, RC structures, culverts or associated infrastructure
  • Proven experience with setting out, QA, ITPs and construction documentation
  • Ability to coordinate subcontractors and engineering teams
  • Strong understanding of highways specifications and construction methodologies
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • CSCS Card essential
  • SMSTS preferred
