Summary: The Section Engineer - Roadworks will oversee a team of engineers responsible for managing various infrastructure projects, including bridges and highways. This role involves budget management, task allocation, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and safety protocols. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project efficiency and quality. A degree in Civil Engineering and a minimum of three years of experience are required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocate tasks to Site Engineers and supervise task completion.
  • Ensure Inspection and Test Plans, and Quality Check Sheets are completed promptly.
  • Oversee engineering requirements for project delivery and subcontractor management.
  • Utilize document control for effective information distribution.
  • Develop and approve procedures specific to the area of work.
  • Assess plant and resource requirements with the Section Foreman.
  • Approve method statements and risk assessments, ensuring compliance.
  • Ensure Site Engineers complete setting out according to design.
  • Mark up Design Drawings to reflect completed works.
  • Liaise with other Section Engineers/Foremen to manage site clashes.
  • Regularly review procedures for efficiency improvements.

Key Skills:

  • Degree level qualification in Civil Engineering or HND in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Section Engineer.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Experience with Permit Systems and raising work permits.
  • Basic environmental awareness.
