Summary: The role of Secondary Teacher involves teaching secondary-aged pupils in a hospital school setting in Southwark. This long-term supply position may lead to a permanent role, requiring the teacher to deliver lessons tailored to the medical needs of students. The successful candidate will provide both individual and small-group instruction in subjects such as English, Maths, and related disciplines. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching secondary-aged pupils within a hospital school setting

  • Delivering your specialist subject in English or Maths

Detailed Description From Employer:

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Secondary Teacher to join a hospital school setting in Southwark. 

This is a long-term supply role, with the potential to become permanent, working 4 or 5 days per week. 

You will be: 

  • Teaching secondary-aged pupils within a hospital school setting 
  • Delivering lessons at the bedside and in classroom settings, depending on pupils’ medical needs 
  • Teaching English with Arts / Humanities, or Maths with Business or Computer Science 
  • Delivering your specialist subject in English or Maths 
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group teaching 
  • Supporting medically unwell and vulnerable pupils 
  • Adapting teaching approaches to meet individual needs 
  • Confidently supporting some primary-aged pupils where required 

The successful candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and be an experienced teacher. Previous experience in a hospital school or alternative provision is desirable but not essential.
