Summary: The Secondary Design Engineer will work under the Protection and Control Engineer to develop comprehensive secondary designs for electrical protection systems, including Single Line Diagrams and AC/DC schematics for networks up to 132 kV. The role involves creating detailed documentation such as Core Sheets and Cable Schedules, primarily for EHV substation projects. This position is outside IR35 and offers the potential for long-term work. Candidates must have significant experience in secondary design within the UK context.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create Single Line Diagrams and Main Control/Protection designs.
- Conceptual design of AC/DC schematics for contestable and private networks up to 132 kV.
- Develop comprehensive secondary designs encompassing AC/DC, general arrangements, interconnections, and block diagrams.
- Creation of Core Sheets, Termination Diagrams, and Cable Schedules.
Key Skills:
- 5 years experience in Secondary design.
- Experience with EHV substation projects up to 132 kV.
- Familiarity with UK NGET and DNO.
- Skilled in secondary design schemes using AutoCAD for 33, 66, and 132 kV systems.
- Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (desirable).
- Direct experience working for an ICP or DNO in the UK (desirable).
