Summary: The role of Secondary Design Engineer involves working with a Renewable Energy business on projects up to 132kV, focusing on the conceptual and detailed design of energy projects, particularly Solar Farms and Battery Energy Storage Systems. The position is for a 6-month contract and requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in secondary design. The engineer will be responsible for producing various design documents and supporting panel manufacturers and site issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development of conceptual and detailed secondary designs up to 132kV for contestable and private networks
- Creation of AC/DC schematics, general arrangements, wiring diagrams, interconnection diagrams, cable block diagrams, cable schedules, and core sheets
- Development of standard secondary design schemes for 33/66/132kV systems
- Preparation of Bill of Materials for panel manufacturers
- Support panel manufacturers with queries and on-site secondary design issues
- Produce a full suite of As Built Secondary Design drawings
Key Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in secondary design
- EHV substation project design experience up to 132kV
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Excellent knowledge of published guidelines, ENA standards, and policies
- Sound knowledge of engineering design principles
- Understanding of construction methods
