Summary: The role is for a Senior SDET/Automation Engineer specializing in Java and cloud automation, focusing on enhancing a global enterprise client's engineering function. The position involves designing and maintaining automated test frameworks, validating data pipelines, and collaborating with software engineers to implement best practices. The candidate should have strong experience in testing distributed systems and APIs within Azure environments. This is a 6-month contract with a requirement for 3 days onsite per week in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks
- Deliver robust API and integration testing across complex enterprise systems
- Validate cloud-based data pipelines and ensure data quality/integrity
- Collaborate closely with software engineers to embed TDD/BDD best practices
- Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery
- Drive automation strategy across front-to-back testing environments
- Contribute to quality engineering standards across cloud-native architectures
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Java automation development
- Proven background in API testing and integration testing
- Solid understanding of TDD/BDD methodologies and frameworks
- Experience building and maintaining automated testing frameworks
- Exposure to cloud environments, ideally Azure
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
