Summary: The role of Scrum Master involves leading Agile teams within an insurance client on a 6-month contract. The position requires effective coordination and communication to enhance team performance and facilitate project delivery. The Scrum Master will utilize Lean-Agile metrics to drive continuous improvement and coach the team towards higher maturity levels. This role is hybrid, requiring two days a week onsite in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use a pragmatic approach to co-ordinate the team by seeking to understand what they want to achieve and helping them become more effective in an Agile context.
- Adapt approaches based on need & fit, identify and escalate blockers, dependencies and risks while working closely with the Product Owners, Developers and Analysts to facilitate delivery.
- Remain neutral, and communicate clearly and effectively with the wider teams, across departments and with Stakeholders.
- Join Scrum of Scrum meetings to give regular updates on progress on projects include RAG status.
- Maintain and optimise the Jira Boards, workflows, and dashboards. Track project work in Jira, co-ordinate story-points and backlog prioritisation.
- Produce documentation of team progress and present summaries of work completed.
- Use advanced understanding of Lean-Agile metrics (health, value, flow and quality) to help teams continually improve.
- Assesses the Agile/Scrum maturity of the team & coaches the team to higher levels of maturity.
- Observes & provides consistent, impactful feedback for team Agile development and help the team remain focussed on the overall delivery of business value.
- Actively seek coaching & mentoring from more experienced SMs & coaches on Lean-Agile techniques and mindset.
- Foster team decision-making, transparency and independence; and encourage cross-training and support amongst the team.
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
- Experience with Jira and Agile project management tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coach and mentor teams towards higher Agile maturity.
- Proficient in Lean-Agile metrics and continuous improvement techniques.
- Experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
