Summary: The Scrum Master will lead one or more Agile teams, facilitating key SAFe ceremonies and driving team improvement through metrics and feedback. The role involves coaching teams on SAFe principles and Scrum practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring alignment with ART goals. The Scrum Master will also support coordination across teams and promote collaboration within a secure defence environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams.
  • Facilitate key SAFe ceremonies including PI Planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and team backlog refinement.
  • Drive team improvement through the use of SAFe metrics and continuous feedback loops.
  • Coach Agile teams on SAFe principles, Agile mindset, and Scrum practices.
  • Foster a culture of relentless improvement and enable team self-organisation.
  • Identify and remove impediments to team progress and flow.
  • Support coordination across teams and with System Architects, Product Management, and Release Train Engineers (RTEs).
  • Ensure alignment to ART goals and synchronisation with other teams within the DVS.
  • Promote DevOps, lean thinking, and cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Attend all PI Planning Conferences and actively contribute to ART planning and alignment.

Key Skills:

  • DV Clearance (Developed Vetting) – must be active and valid.
  • Certified SAFe® 6.0 Scrum Master (SSM).
  • Proven experience working as a Scrum Master in a SAFe 6.0 or large-scale Agile environment.
  • Experience in supporting Agile Release Trains and facilitating PI planning.
  • Strong servant leadership, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile planning and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Ability to work effectively in a secure and complex defence environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
