Summary: The Scrum Master will join a high-profile programme focused on delivering innovative digital and data-driven planning products in a hybrid work environment. This role involves facilitating Agile ceremonies, supporting Program Increment (PI) planning, and driving continuous improvement across multiple cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in a scaled Agile environment, particularly within a SAFe framework, and will be responsible for enhancing team effectiveness and delivery excellence. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare teams for Programme Increment (PI) Planning events.
- Facilitate team-level breakout sessions during PI Planning.
- Support the Release Train Engineer (RTE) with planning and coordination activities.
- Help teams define, refine and present PI Objectives.
- Drive alignment across teams and stakeholders.
- Facilitate Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Backlog Refinement and other team ceremonies.
- Ensure SAFe events are productive, time-boxed and outcome-focused.
- Support iteration execution and delivery against agreed objectives.
- Assist with estimation, planning and tracking of stories, tasks and defects.
- Coach teams on Agile, Scrum, Kanban and SAFe best practices.
- Identify and address delivery challenges, skills gaps, dependencies and impediments.
- Facilitate retrospectives, Inspect & Adapt sessions and problem-solving workshops.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous learning.
- Partner closely with Product Owners, Developers, Architects, Product Managers and the RTE.
- Ensure team backlogs are prioritised, refined and populated with ready work items.
- Monitor delivery metrics, flow measures and quality indicators to support data-driven decision making.
- Drive improvements in throughput, predictability and overall team performance.
- Identify, manage and escalate risks, dependencies and blockers.
- Maintain visibility of progress, issues and delivery status.
- Foster a transparent, inclusive and psychologically safe team environment.
Key Skills:
- Scrum Master certification preferred (PSM I/II, CSM, A-CSM or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Scrum Master supporting technology teams delivering digital and/or data products.
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks including SAFe, Scrum and Kanban.
- Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and PI Planning events.
- Proven ability to improve team performance, flow and delivery capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills.
