Summary: The Scrum Master role involves supporting agile delivery within a banking institution, focusing on collaboration with Front End teams and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
- Support Front End engineering teams in delivering work efficiently, collaboratively, and to agreed quality standards.
- Remove blockers, manage dependencies, and help teams stay focused on priorities and delivery goals.
- Work closely with Product Owners, engineers, and wider stakeholders to maintain alignment on scope, outcomes, and timelines.
- Promote continuous improvement, coaching teams on best practice and effective agile ways of working.
- Track and communicate delivery progress using appropriate agile metrics (for example velocity, burn-down/up, flow metrics) and provide clear updates to stakeholders.
- Encourage a healthy team culture, psychological safety, and constructive collaboration across technical and non-technical groups.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master within banking, financial services, or a similarly regulated environment.
- Strong technical literacy with the ability to engage confidently with Front End engineering teams (for example modern web technologies, APIs, CI/CD concepts).
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, including working with senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of agile principles, Scrum methodologies, and practical delivery in a scaled environment.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to build trust across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience identifying and resolving delivery risks, impediments, and process bottlenecks.
