Summary: The Scrum Master role in Leeds involves facilitating Scrum practices within a media, broadcasting, or telecom environment. The position requires ensuring that the Scrum Team understands goals and product domains while managing the Product Backlog effectively. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the Scrum Team.
- Finding techniques for effective Product Backlog management.
- Helping the Scrum Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items.
- Understanding product planning in an empirical environment.
- Ensuring the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value.
- Facilitating Scrum events as requested or needed.
- Assisting the product organization refine the user stories to ensure they are constructed with all required information.
- Coaching the Development Team in self-organization and cross-functionality.
- Helping the Development Team to create high-value products.
- Removing impediments to the Development Team’s progress.
- Facilitating all team meetings, including Daily Stand-up, Grooming Session, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
- Leading and coaching the organization in its Scrum adoption.
- Planning Scrum implementations within the organization.
- Helping employees and stakeholders understand and enact Scrum and empirical product development.
- Causing change that increases the productivity of the Scrum Team.
- Working with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of Scrum application in the organization.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or computer engineering.
- MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
- Significant experience in an Information Technology / Software Development organization.
- Significant experience with Agile development processes.
- Experience in release planning and milestone planning based on velocity.
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM).
