Summary: The Scrum Master will lead Agile teams in Glasgow, UK, ensuring successful project delivery through Scrum principles and practices. This role involves facilitating Agile ceremonies, coaching team members, and driving continuous improvement while managing dependencies and stakeholder expectations. The position is contract-based and classified as inside IR35. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in Agile methodologies and a strong understanding of Scrum practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Coach team members on Agile values, Scrum practices, and self-organization.
- Remove blockers and impediments impacting team productivity.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure a well-groomed and prioritized backlog.
- Monitor sprint progress, velocity, and Agile metrics.
- Promote transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Manage dependencies and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Support Agile transformation initiatives and organizational change.
- Prepare and present status reports to stakeholders and leadership.
- Ensure adherence to Agile and Scrum best practices.
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of Scrum, Agile, Kanban, and Lean methodologies.
- Experience working as a Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams.
- Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Experience tracking Agile metrics such as velocity, burn-down, and burn-up charts.

The Financial Scrum Master drives Agile maturity across cross-functional teams (e.g., payments, lending, or core banking). They are responsible for promoting continuous improvement while navigating legacy systems and strict regulatory frameworks that dictate the banking industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Agile Leadership: Guide cross-functional teams in the adoption and execution of Scrum or Kanban frameworks.
- Facilitate all core ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Regulatory Compliance & Delivery: Ensure that project deliverables comply with financial regulations and strict Enterprise Change Management policies.
- Impediment Resolution: Proactively identify and remove blockers to keep development squads moving, specifically managing complex dependencies between multiple business units and vendors.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Manage expectations regarding scope, timelines, budgets, and Agile roadmaps. Act as the key liaison between technology teams and banking stakeholders.
- [ Metric Tracking & Reporting: Track team velocity and delivery metrics to identify operational bottlenecks. Draft delivery and production reports for senior management.
