Summary: HSBC is looking for a proactive Scrum Master for a 6-month contract in Edinburgh, focusing on managing the triage process for change requests within the Financial Services sector. The role requires strong Agile experience, excellent Jira skills, and the ability to facilitate communication between various teams. The Scrum Master will ensure timely governance alignment and visibility of change requests across the business. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Triage Process for Product Solutions Delivery
- Manage and facilitate regular triage meetings to assess, prioritise and assign incoming Jira tickets
- Ensure that all change requests are accurately categorised, contain the relevant amount of detail and are assigned to the correct teams within Product Solutions
- Work with requestors and product to determine the materiality of a change and ensure change requests deemed material are following the correct governance flow
- Act as the Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams
- Facilitate daily stand ups, sprint planning, retrospectives and reviews
- Remove blockers and foster team self-organisation and ownership
- Maintain the Product Solutions confluence page
- Enforce ticket quality and standards with proper use of fields and tags
- Generate triage reports using Jira Query Language (JQL)
- Collaborate with product owners, other Triage Leads, operations and IT architecture and communicate the status and urgency of change requests
- Serve as a central point of contact for Product Solutions triage related escalations and coordination
- Identify patterns in triaged items to inform process improvements and backlog management
- Recommend enhancements to triage agile execution practices
- Define and communicate Change Request and Triage practice standards across SSv
Key Skills:
- Experience working in Financial Services, ideally within Securities Services in a change/scrum master role
- Analytical thinker with strong judgement and prioritisation skills – proven Product/Business Analyst experience
- Ability to assess the business impact of a change, challenge requirements working cross functions/product lines
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Highly proficient using Gojira and Confluence
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communicator both verbally and written
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a sense of ownership and accountability
- Positive, dynamic, and resilient individual, open to change and able to adapt to changing circumstances
