Summary: The role of Science Teacher involves teaching in an alternative provision setting focused on supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as autism and related behavioral challenges. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a broad and balanced Science curriculum tailored to individual learning needs
- Create a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
- Build positive relationships with students to support their SEMH and behavioural needs
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral staff
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches accordingly
Key Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred - but applications from unqualified teachers with relevant experience are welcome
- Experience or strong interest in working with SEMH, autism and/or behavioural needs
- Strong classroom management skills and a trauma-informed approach
- Passion for Science and creative, flexible teaching methods
- Empathy, resilience and a commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable young people

About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity to teach Science in a nurturing and therapeutic learning environment that values relationship-based practice and individualised support. Working with a small group of students, you will deliver engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence in Science, while supporting pupils' personal and emotional development.
