Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:45am - 2:45pm

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and reliable School Cook to join our team in Liverpool. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals in a school environment, ensuring high standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve healthy, balanced meals in line with school requirements

• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness

• Manage food preparation efficiently within a school timetable

• Follow all food safety regulations and school policies

• Work collaboratively with school staff and catering colleagues

• Safely store food and manage stock levels

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience cooking in a school or similar setting

• Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent)

• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain a new Enhanced DBS at the candidate's expense

• Willingness to undergo reference checks

• Good understanding of food allergens and dietary requirements

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

Desirable

• Experience working with children or within an educational environment

• Knowledge of school meal standards and nutritional guidelines
